Smart, Personalized, and Interactive Platform for Electronic Prescription
Electronic prescription and Computerized Physician Order Entry systems are being adopted nationwide, aiming primarily to facilitate healthcare professionals in documenting transactions with the healthcare delivery services and support cost assessment. To this end, such systems focus on the administrative and auditing aspects of healthcare delivery, while lately there is a trend to advance their functionality with features aiming to reinforce the quality and safety of care.
PrescIT aims to develop, evaluate and disseminate a Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) for more efficient, safe, standardized and affordable electronic prescription. Particular emphasis is placed on end-users’ needs. The system’s validation and evaluation will entail three different clinical case scenarios and will be carried out by three private and public greek hospitals.
The project is expected to bring technological as well as clinical breakthroughs. It is worth mentioning that the consortium holds the technological know-how and the means to integrate significant outcomes at a national level, while it also aims at international markets.
